The site-specific plan amendment (SSPA) process starts Oct. 3, 2022. The Fairfax County Department of Planning and Development has released a nominator guide, which includes a detailed description of the SSPA process, as well as specific submission criteria and requirements for submitting plan amendment nominations.
The open nomination period runs from Oct. 3-28, 2022. This opportunity to change the Comprehensive Plan land-use designation or site-specific language is anticipated to occur only every two years.
SSPA submissions will not be impacted by the county’s online submission system shutdown from Oct. 21-31.
