Partner David Greenspan (Labor and Employment, Tysons) conducted a 4-hour seminar to approximately 20 local chiefs of police and sheriffs at the annual Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy Legal Seminar on June 2, 2009. This presentation followed a more abbreviated seminar last summer at the Homestead to the Virginia Chiefs of Police Association. Topics presented to the NVCJA included prevention of discrimination, harassment and retaliation in the workplace; analysis of recent changes to the ADA and FMLA; and best practices regarding workforce counseling, evaluations, employee discipline and termination considerations.
