At the invitation of firm client Columbia Property Trust, partners L.D. Simmons and Steve Peterson addressed a meeting of the Atlanta Real Estate Risk Managers Association on May 28. The topic was “Indemnities and Endorsements – Protecting the Owner and Developer in Real Estate Projects.” Our real estate and construction clients are particularly interested in the recent enactment of statutes prohibiting indemnification in construction agreements as well as changes to standard liability insurance policies providing coverage for construction risks. This program, which was attended by a number of our other Atlanta real estate clients, focused on these recent industry developments.
