Craig Harmon was a keynote presenter at the Association of University Research Parks 2019 International Conference. The AURP IC2019 is a flagship innovation conference for professionals to gather from around the globe to connect and collaborate on development opportunities with company and leading research universities from around the United States and across the globe.
Craig’s presentation focused on The Art of the Deal: Finance and Structuring, and was joined by moderator Kevin Byrne, President of The University Financing Foundation and a firm client, Ted Matozzo, Vice President, Public Finance Investment Banking, BofA Securities, Inc., Bank of America, N.A. and a firm, and Terri Finister, Partner, Murray Barnes Finister LLP. As the panelists highlighted during their session, there is no typical answer or solution when it comes to structuring and financing a real estate deal, especially in connection with research universities. From underwriting and legal groundwork, to bond structures, to real estate and construction, the panel discussed their unique backgrounds and past examples of their work which helped to set university communities ablaze with innovation and development.
