McGuireWoods Atlanta partner and AtlAS president-elect Shelby Guilbert will moderate an AtlAS discussion of recent trends in international dispute resolution. The discussion will focus on Georgia’s new mediation law, which was drafted by the AtlAS working group chaired by Guilbert. The new law incorporates the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Mediated Settlement Agreements (the Singapore Model Law), making Georgia the first state in the United States to enact the Singapore Model Law, which is designed to streamline the process for enforcing international mediated settlement agreements.
The panel also will discuss other cross-border dispute resolution issues, including recent amendments to leading institutional rules, the impact of the pandemic on international mediation and arbitration, and developments following the 2018 UNCITRAL Singapore Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting From Mediation.
