Partner Tom Spahn (Business and Securities Litigation, Tysons) recently traveled to Iceland for a 10-minute interview on Iceland’s leading news show. Spahn was asked to analyze the ethics implications of a law firm’s involvement as a bankrupt company’s liquidator after having represented the company before its bankruptcy. That issue had become the topic of significant debate in Iceland, following one of its largest company’s bankruptcies. Specifically, the topic was being addressed by Egill Helgason, who hosts “Iceland’s Main Political Debate Show.” Helgason is generally recognized as Iceland’s “top commentator on political and social issues.”
