The fall 2020 issue of the The Duquesne Lawyer, the alumni magazine of Duquesne University School of Law, showcased the professional and advocacy achievements of McGuireWoods Pittsburgh partner Bryan Brantley (Complex Commercial Litigation).
An accomplished litigator with national experience across industries, Bryan co-leads McGuireWoods’ transportation industry team in addition to his service on the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion and Finance Committees and as pro bono coordinator for the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Among his honors, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association recognized him as a 2020 Rainmaker, The Legal Intelligencer named him a 2020 Pennsylvania Trailblazer, and he was a 2014 fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
The Duquesne Lawyer article, “A Rich Legacy of Diversity,” featuring Bryan and four fellow Duquesne Law alumni, noted that throughout his career, Bryan has advocated for diversity and inclusion in the legal industry.
“He places an emphasis on people focusing so much on defining diverse characteristics that the focus of inclusion is lost,” the article said. In quoted material, Bryan explained that “performing at a high level in isolation is not sustainable.” He addressed the issue by broadening his network, inside and outside the firm, to maintain connections with supportive lawyers across the country.
