McGuireWoods healthcare associate Timothy Fry was quoted in a Jan. 18, 2021, Healthcare Financial Management Association article about revised Provider Relief Fund reporting.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services postponed the Feb. 15, 2021, deadline for hospitals to report COVID-19-related expenses and lost revenue. In addition, year-end legislation on the reporting process included revised guidance on lost revenue reporting. Fry addressed how the option to use budgeted revenue versus actual revenue may favorably impact providers.
“The lost revenue definition change was something a lot of our clients were looking for and gives them a lot more comfort that they would be able to keep the funds that they had received,” Fry said.
Fry and members of the firm’s healthcare practice have provided detailed analysis of provider relief funding in alerts and videos found on McGuireWoods’ Coronavirus: Impact and Insight page.
