The National Law Journal, Law360 and Bloomberg Law covered the arrival of McGuireWoods Richmond partner Erin Ashwell, who joined the Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department.
Ashwell is an accomplished litigator and appellate practitioner who recently served as Virginia’s chief deputy attorney general. At McGuireWoods, she will represent clients in consumer protection, criminal litigation, enforcement matters and investigation issues. She will also handle appellate cases related to education, healthcare, and labor and employment.
Law360 included a statement from Ashwell, who said, “I have tremendous respect and admiration for McGuireWoods and am excited to join one of the nation’s top government investigations practices.”
The National Law Journal noted that Todd Steggerda, chair of the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department, said Ashwell’s unique insight will have enormous benefits for clients, particularly in consumer protection matters and in state attorney general enforcement actions.
Writer and commentator David Lat touted the arrivals of Ashwell and Washington, D.C., partner Jeff Ehrlich as the “lateral moves of the week” in his Substack newsletter Original Jurisdiction.
