Law360 and The American Lawyer were among the legal media publications that covered the recent arrivals of patent litigation partners Michael Nutter and Merritt Westcott, who joined the firm’s IP Litigation & Transactions Department in Chicago and Houston, respectively.
Nutter leads the firm’s pharmaceutical and life sciences patent litigation group. He represents generic drug companies in patent infringement matters involving Hatch-Waxman abbreviated new drug applications (ANDA) and FDA biosimilar applications.
In addition to handling ANDA and biologics patent litigation cases, Westcott litigates patent disputes in other technologies, including medical and clinical devices, mass storage systems, computer software, cloud-based communications platforms, and oil and gas exploration technology.
Law360 ’s Sept. 8, 2022, story highlighted the new partners’ credentials and noted the recent growth in McGuireWoods’ Chicago and Houston offices.
The Global Legal Post, Bloomberg Law’s Wake Up Call column and Reuters’ legal news newsletter, The Daily Docket, also published news items on Nutter and Westcott. The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin noted Nutter’s arrival in its Sept. 12, 2022, CDLB People column.
