Law360 featured McGuireWoods’ Dallas office in a Jan. 19, 2023, story about the office’s planned relocation, reporting that the design of the new workspace will inspire collaboration among lawyers and professional staff and accommodate future growth.
“Dallas is a very successful office, and we want to continue to grow and offer a full-service experience for our clients,” said Jason Cook, managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Dallas office.
By the end of this year, McGuireWoods will move its Dallas office from its current home at 2000 McKinney Ave. to the Link at Uptown, a 25-story office tower just three blocks to the north on Olive Street. The firm will occupy the 21st and 22nd floors — spaces designed to foster collegiality.
“We are trying to make it more collaborative than your typical law office,” Cook told Law360.
“We want people walking the halls, popping into each other’s offices” and talking over case and deal strategy, he said. The firm is designing a space in which “people will truly enjoy coming in and working together,” he added.
McGuireWoods established a Dallas office in 2014 and quickly built a deep bench of attorneys with experience in matters involving private equity, debt finance, labor and employment, financial services litigation and intellectual property. Law360 noted that Dallas private equity lawyers launched the firm’s national Independent Sponsor Conference, an annual event that attracted more than 1,000 participants in 2022.
Cook told Law360 that McGuireWoods is “a place where collaboration is emphasized, where teamwork is key.”
“I will retire here,” Cook said. “It’s a phenomenal place to work.”
