Financier Worldwide, a UK publication covering corporate finance and board-level business issues, honored McGuireWoods London partner Chloe Steele as a “Distinguished Adviser” in “POWER PLAYERS: Complex Disputes 2022.”
In a Q&A with Financier Worldwide, Steele spoke about her work developing McGuireWoods ACT, a junior lawyers’ professional development group in the firm’s London office. The initiative provides opportunities for members of the wider business community to build relationships with peer-level contacts from a variety of industries.
“Seeing those connections develop is extremely rewarding,” Steele said. “Staying well-connected and making an effort to understand one another are unbeatable in strengthening team relationships and maintaining morale. It encourages people to venture outside their comfort zones, offer opinions and develop ideas together to further professional growth, which also supports us in offering the best service to clients.” Steele also discussed her efforts to support McGuireWoods colleagues’ career development through the firm’s Women Lawyers Network.
Steele, a partner in the firm’s Business & Securities Litigation Department, represents clients in commercial disputes. She handles a wide range of proceedings — often with an international dimension — in the English High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, county courts, tribunals and London Court of International Arbitration. In 2022, the Legal 500 UK recognized her as a “Next Generation Partner” in the Commercial Litigation: Mid-Market Category.
