Law360 and the Daily Journal were among the media outlets that covered the recent arrival of McGuireWoods partner Mikaela Whitman, who joined the firm’s insurance recovery team. She splits her time between the firm’s offices in Century City, California, and New York City.
Whitman mediates and litigates commercial insurance disputes and she has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for policyholders. She is known for her work with high-profile clients and high-value insurance claims concerning directors and officers (D&O) and errors and omissions (E&O) insurance, sexual misconduct claims, business interruption losses, product recalls and liabilities, and media liability claims.
In Law360’s Jan. 9, 2024, story, Whitman said she joined McGuireWoods because of its strong litigation bench. “Their insurance recovery group is one of the best-known groups out there, and it’s growing,” she said. “That’s a great fit to grow my own practice.”
Whitman’s arrival also was noted in Bloomberg Law’s daily “Wake Up Call” column and Reuters’ legal newsletter “The Daily Docket.”
