Law360, Global Competition Review, Bloomberg Law, Politico, Commercial Dispute Resolution and Global Legal Chronicle were among the international media outlets that covered the arrival of McGuireWoods Washington, D.C. partner Megan S. Lewis.
Lewis was previously an Assistant Chief of the Washington Criminal Section of the Antitrust Division in the U.S. Department of Justice, where she managed teams of trial attorneys and supervised criminal antitrust investigations and litigation in a wide range of industries. At McGuireWoods she advises clients on internal and government investigations, follow-on civil litigation and other antitrust disputes, and provides counsel on antitrust compliance and risk mitigation.
Lewis told Law360 in its Oct. 2, 2024, story that she “had a phenomenal decade of experience” at the DOJ but was ready to pursue new challenges by returning to private practice, and the lawyers at McGuireWoods and the strength of the firm’s antitrust and government investigation teams drew her to the firm.
As she informed GCR in its Oct. 3, 2024, article, she is joining McGuireWoods during an “almost unprecedented” period of antitrust activity. She said her job is to help clients “stay on the right side of the law” but also know “when and how to appropriately push back if enforcers are stretching too far.”
Reuters also noted Lewis’ arrival in the Oct. 2, 2024, edition of its “Afternoon Docket” newsletter.
