Texas Lawyer, Law360, Healthcare Business Today, Thomson Reuters Westlaw Today, Bloomberg Law, Global Legal Chronicle and The Texas Lawbook were among the national and regional media outlets that covered the recent arrival of McGuireWoods partners Michael Elliott and Mindy Sauter and counsel Chris Quinlan. The trio anchors the firm’s government investigations and white collar litigation practice in Dallas.
Elliott and Sauter are former federal prosecutors with particular experience in healthcare matters. After serving as federal prosecutors, they founded Elliott Sauter in 2017, and brought Quinlan to their practice. Their addition bolsters McGuireWoods’ already significant healthcare industry capabilities.
Sauter told Texas Lawyer, an American Lawyer Media publication, that the size of McGuireWoods’ national government investigations and white collar litigation practice and its practice depth will benefit clients. The firm’s national footprint and collaborative culture help healthcare clients keep abreast of government enforcement trends in all areas of the country, she said.
“Specifically for white collar health care enforcement, it’s incredibly important to track the trends,” she said.
Elliott said there is growing demand for the services he, Sauter and Quinlan provide for clients. In addition to representing clients in government investigations, they develop and audit healthcare compliance programs and perform due diligence analysis for healthcare acquisitions and sales.
Bloomberg Law’s Wake Up Call column, Reuters’ Daily Docket newsletter and Commercial Dispute Resolution also noted the team’s arrival in their coverage of major hires by U.S. law firms.
