McGuireWoods LLP announced today that Dennis Belcher, a partner in the firm’s Trust and Estates practice, has been named one of the nation’s “Most Influential Lawyers” by the National Law Journal. The publication cited 34 attorneys from 10 different practice areas for their legal contributions over the past five years and for “shaping the law, the economy, the physical fabric of the United States and the world.” A complete list of those recognized can be found here. The publication called Belcher, a past president of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a former chairman of the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, “a leader in his field” of trusts and estates law, noting his numerous publications on wealth management issues and his testimony before Congress on the estate tax.
“This recognition by the National Law Journal only affirms what his clients have known for years,” said Richard Cullen, chairman of McGuireWoods, “that Dennis Belcher is one of the true visionaries in this complex and constantly changing area of the law. On behalf of the entire firm I congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.”
