McGuireWoods London LLP has represented Arlington Investors Limited in its joint venture with leading student accommodation developer and operator Campus Living Villages in purchasing a large student accommodation portfolio from the Opal Group.
The joint venture deal, which closed Friday, is a significant acquisition in the student accommodation market in the UK.
“The finance and structure available have made the deal a worthwhile investment and is a positive sign of things to come in the market.” said Hed Amitai, a partner in the firm’s tax practice who led the McGuireWoods team in the deal.
Other principal members of the McGuireWoods team included partners Mark Langford who handled the joint venture negotiations and Marc Isaacs and Petar Orlic, who handled the banking and property management aspects of the deal, respectively.
