McGuireWoods Achieves High Rankings for International Trade in Chambers and Partners 2015 Europe Guide McGuireWoods is recognized as a leader in international trade law in the 2015 edition of Chambers Europe, a widely read and highly respected guide to the continent’s leading law firms.
Based on feedback from clients and the work of the firm’s lawyers, Chambers Europe ranked McGuireWoods among the international trade elite in its Europe-wide and Belgium tables, highlighting its representation of European industries as complainants and non-European exporters as respondents. It also notes the firm’s counsel on customs law, as well as European and non-EU trade defense.
McGuireWoods received similar recognition for its international trade law prowess in the latest edition of Chambers Global 2015, a guide to the world’s leading law firms, which was published last month. Chambers Europe ranks leading law firms and practitioners in 52 countries.
Chambers Europe ranked three of the firm’s lawyers individually, citing their work for clients in anti-dumping investigations and complex litigation matters. They are:
- Vassilis Akritidis – International Trade/WTO, Europe-wide and Belgium. Clients interviewed by Chambers described Akritidis as “very knowledgeable in anti-dumping” with “a great deal of experience in the practical side” of European Commission investigations. Akritidis also was ranked in the 2015 Chambers Global guide.
- Yves Melin – International Trade/WTO, Europe-wide and Belgium. Interviewees described Melin as “very good at explaining the very complex technical details of anti-dumping in a straightforward way.” Melin also was ranked in the 2015 Chambers Global guide.
- Hardeep Nahal – Litigation, UK. Nahal was described as skilled in handling complex litigation matters, many of them international in nature. Sources declared him to be “a classic litigator. He grabs on and doesn’t let go.” Nahal also was ranked in the 2015 Chambers UK guide.
