McGuireWoods partner Art Gambill has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, an exclusive professional organization dedicated to promoting the field of commercial finance law. Gambill will be inducted April 9 during the organization’s annual meeting in Montreal.
Gambill is an Atlanta partner in the firm’s nationally recognized debt finance practice who represents leading financial institutions in loan transactions to the healthcare and life science industries. He has particular experience in financing and acquisition transactions for skilled nursing facilities, physician groups, long-term acute care hospitals, early-stage life science companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributers, and other provider organizations. Gambill chairs the State Bar of Georgia Business Law Section’s UCC Committee.
“This is a tremendous honor for Art and for the firm, and we’re proud to see him receive this well-deserved recognition,” said Raj Natarajan, chair of McGuireWoods’ debt finance practice. “Art’s election to this elite group says a lot about the high regard his peers have for him.”
Membership in the college is limited to lawyers, jurists and academics who have achieved preeminence in the field of commercial finance law and have made substantial contributions to promoting learning and scholarship through teaching, lecturing, writing or continuing legal education. Gambill — elected to the 2016 fellows class by the college’s board of regents — joins McGuireWoods debt finance partners Hil Jordan and Gary Samson as fellows of the college.
“The American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers plays an indispensable role in advancing our field of law and I am honored to join such a distinguished group of lawyers,” Gambill said.
McGuireWoods ranked No. 1 in deal count and No. 6 in dollar volume in Thomson Reuters Loan Pricing Corp.’s year-end 2015 U.S. Lender Law Firm League Table for the firm’s representation of lead arrangers and bookrunners in syndicated debt financings, with 161 deals valued at $112.8 billion. McGuireWoods has been ranked among the top 10 U.S. law firms in the authoritative league tables for five consecutive years.
