General counsel at large corporations again have rated McGuireWoods among the leading law firms for client service in BTI Consulting Group’s annual “Client Service A-Team” report.
It is the 12th time McGuireWoods has earned a place on BTI’s “Client Service 30” list of elite law firms, which is based on feedback from top legal decision makers at companies with revenue of $1 billion or more. McGuireWoods is one of only 11 firms to make the coveted list at least 10 times.
“The message: clients are not interested in one-off performances,” BTI reported. “The law firms able to differentiate on client service have invested in superior service as a way of life.”
McGuireWoods was recognized in all 17 performance categories that corporate counsel consider critical to maintaining strong relationships with their law firms, including client focus, value for the dollar, innovative approach, bringing together national resources and breadth of services.
Specifically, the report noted that clients “are impressed by the firm’s use of technology to report on case status and provide collaboration tools online,” which adds tremendous value.
As one client told BTI researchers: “Their strategic use of information technology allows them to be aggressive and gain the upper hand.”
Clients also said McGuireWoods shines for “its ability to assemble resources from across the firm to meet their needs,” according to the report. Earlier this year, a BTI survey identified McGuireWoods as one of only three law firms that stand apart from all others for their collaborative approach to client service.
“We are proud that our clients continue to recognize our unwavering commitment to understanding their business and taking innovative approaches to serve their specific needs,” said J. Tracy Walker IV, managing partner of McGuireWoods.
The “Client Service A-Team” report is based on 350 in-depth interviews with corporate counsel between Feb. 20 and Oct. 16, 2017. BTI performs in-depth analysis of client experiences and is a leading strategic research provider to the legal community.
