Law360 has named McGuireWoods’ Joanne Katsantonis one of its Influential Women in Energy. She is featured in an Aug. 15 story profiling her work leading multibillion-dollar mergers and acquisitions across energy subsectors.
“I am honored to be recognized among this remarkable group of women who are truly making an impact in the energy industry domestically and abroad,” said Katsantonis, McGuireWoods’ deputy managing partner for industry teams.
Katsantonis has led some of the energy industry’s largest deals. Focusing on the areas of M&A transactions and financings, she advises purchasers and sellers of businesses as well as energy companies of all kinds, from public utilities and independent power producers to financial investors. Over the past 18 months alone, she has led more than a dozen solar power transactions with an overall project value of $5 billion.
Katsantonis’ landmark transactions throughout her nearly 30-year career earned her recognition as a top rainmaker by Minority Corporate Counsel Association and as an “M&A/Antitrust Trailblazer” by The National Law Journal. During her years leading McGuireWoods’ energy industry team, the firm earned numerous honors, including six nationwide rankings in The Legal 500 United States for energy transaction, regulatory and litigation work. Now deputy managing partner, Katsantonis oversees all industry teams at McGuireWoods, recognized among the top five firms with the strongest client relationships across industry sectors in BTI Consulting Group’s Industry Power Rankings.
