McGuireWoods was a finalist in six deal categories for the 2019 M&A Advisor Awards, which recognized top corporate transactions from the past year and the firms involved in closing them.
The firm represented clients in three major deals — including two in the energy sector — that were named finalists in various categories.

The M& A Advisor recognized McGuireWoods for advising clients in the following deals:
- Merger of Dominion Energy With SCANA Corp.: McGuireWoods advised Dominion Energy Inc. in its $13.4 billion merger with South Carolina-based SCANA Corp. that expands Dominion Energy’s operations in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The deal was a finalist for Utilities Deal of the Year and M&A Deal of the Year (over $10 billion).
- Acquisition of Roper Technologies Inc.’s Scientific Imaging Businesses by Teledyne Technologies Inc.: The firm represented Teledyne Technologies Inc. in a $225 million acquisition of Roper Technologies Inc.’s Scientific Imaging businesses, which provide solutions for life sciences companies, academic research and customized original equipment manufacturer systems. The deal was a finalist for M&A Deal of the Year ($100 million-$250 million).
- Acquisition of Texas Utility Engineering by EN Engineering : McGuireWoods advised EN Engineering in its investment in Texas Utility Engineering (TXUE), an electric utility and telecommunications engineering firm. The deal was a finalist in three categories: Utilities Deal of the Year, Telecommunication Services Deal of the Year, and M&A Deal of the Year ($25 million-$50 million).
