Attorneys in both of McGuireWoods’ Los Angeles offices have been recognized among the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2019 “Most Influential Minority Attorneys .”
Sabrina Beldner, a top labor and employment litigator in the firm’s Century City office, and Hamid Namazie, managing partner of the downtown Los Angeles office and national thought leader on debt finance and commercial lending, were honored in this year’s class.
The Business Journal noted in its profile of Beldner that her clients call her their “Swiss Army Knife” for her versatility and effectiveness in high-stakes employment matters. It notes her leadership roles in the firm, including serving on both its Recruiting and Diversity & Inclusion Committees, in addition to chairing its LGBT Lawyer Network.
“I am honored to be included among such esteemed Los Angeles lawyers, and to carry the flag for McGuireWoods, a firm that embraces diversity and inclusion,” Beldner said.
Of Namazie, the journal noted his representation of a major U.S. bank in some of its largest and most innovative financing deals and his role as a pre-eminent advisor to trade groups and legislatures across the country as they enact lending disclosure laws that could shape the commercial lending landscape years into the future.
“This recognition speaks to the intense focus that McGuireWoods lawyers have on their clients’ needs and goals every day, and I am proud to be seen as an example of that,” Namazie said.
McGuireWoods’ Diversity and Inclusion Committee chair Ava Lias-Booker added, “We are proud of Sabrina and Hamid’s many accomplishments as leaders of the firm and in the legal profession.”
