McGuireWoods advised private equity firm Summit Park in its recapitalization of Elliott Aviation, a family-owned aviation services company headquartered in Illinois.
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Summit Park invests across a variety of sectors, including business and consumer services, light manufacturing and value-added distribution. McGuireWoods has represented Summit Park in all four platform investments in its current fund, Summit Park III, which closed in 2018 with $245 million of capital commitments.
Lawyers from the firm’s M&A and debt finance practices helped Summit Park close the transaction. Charlotte partner H. Ramsey White III led the deal team, which included partners Christian Brose and Patricia Hosmer and counsel Curtis Griner. Lawyers from the firm’s employment, real estate, intellectual property and tax groups also assisted.
“This was a true team effort to help a valued client close an important transaction,” White said. “We look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with Summit Park.”
McGuireWoods ranks among the leading law firms for U.S. and global M&A deals, including private equity transactions. The firm earned top five rankings for U.S. deal count and top 10 rankings for global deals in 2019 league tables published by Refinitiv and Bloomberg.
