Corporate counsel included McGuireWoods in a select group of law firms that are “leading the pack” guiding clients through the COVID-19 pandemic, according to BTI Consulting Group.
BTI’s findings are based on interviews with top legal decision makers at large companies across industries. The firms identified by BTI are those that corporate counsel “would go to the mat to keep if they are forced to choose,” BTI reported.
“The pandemic is redefining corporate counsel objectives and in some cases their core role,” BTI noted. “Top legal decision makers tell us how a few law firms have really stepped it up, jumped in, and are truly committed.”
McGuireWoods and its full-service public affairs arm, McGuireWoods Consulting, established a COVID-19 Response Team to assist clients with legal, business, public affairs and crisis management needs arising from the pandemic.
BTI previously ranked McGuireWoods among the elite law firms for client service in its 2020 “Client Service A-Team” report, and named the firm among the “Best of the Best” in activities most important to corporate counsel. It marked the 14th time McGuireWoods ranked among the top 30 in BTI’s annual survey of law firm performance.
In that report, BTI identified two new client service attributes that corporate counsel have moved to the top of their list during the pandemic: dealing with complexity and uniformity of service. McGuireWoods excels on both fronts, with highly developed industry teams providing clients with guidance carefully tailored for their businesses and markets.
