Jason Huebinger, an accomplished litigator with broad experience representing energy companies and other employers in labor and employment matters, has joined McGuireWoods as a partner in Houston.
Huebinger represents companies in litigation involving discrimination claims, employment-related torts, noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. He also helps clients draft employment policies and contracts and advises them on minimizing litigation risks and protecting confidential and trade secret information.
Huebinger has assisted oil and gas businesses and other energy companies in labor and employment matters and commercial litigation, including several large-scale arbitrations and jury trials. He joins McGuireWoods from Holland & Knight.
“Jason’s business acumen and skill in high-stakes litigation will provide our clients with powerful advantages,” said partner Sabrina Beldner, chair of McGuireWoods’ Labor & Employment Department. “He is an important addition as we expand our employment practice in Texas.”
Huebinger is the third partner to join the firm’s Houston office in 2021, following the additions of healthcare partners Jonathan Ishee and Janice Suchyta.
“Jason is a perfect fit for our growing Houston practice,” said Yasser Madriz, managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Houston office. “He is a highly regarded trial lawyer and trusted adviser for companies in the energy industry and other dynamic sectors of our economy.”
McGuireWoods’ labor and employment lawyers advise local, national and multinational employers — including small businesses, government entities and Fortune 500 companies — on compliance with state, federal and international law; internal investigations; federal contracting; and executive compensation. The firm earned national Tier 1 rankings for labor and employment litigation and employment law in the 2021 edition of U.S. News-Best Lawyers’ “Best Law Firms.”
“McGuireWoods is a litigation powerhouse with a national reputation for excellence guiding corporate clients through labor and employment matters,” Huebinger said. “I am excited join this talented team and to be part of the firm’s continued growth in Texas.”
