McGuireWoods associates Jasmine Gardner and Jocelyn Mitnaul Mallette have been selected for The National Black Lawyers’ list of Top 40 Under 40 lawyers.
The National Black Lawyers is a professional and educational organization comprised of African American attorneys who have demonstrated excellence and achieved outstanding results in their careers.
Based in the firm’s Charlotte office, Gardner represents corporate clients in the financial services, construction, trucking and healthcare industries in complex commercial litigation matters. Among her honors, she was selected for inclusion on the 2021 and 2022 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list for commercial litigation. She also was named a Super Lawyers “North Carolina Rising Star” three years in a row for business litigation. In 2019, Gardner represented McGuireWoods in the Community Building Initiative’s Leaders Under 40 program, “a leadership development program that convenes and supports a diverse, cross-sector group of emerging community leaders.”
Mallette, based in Raleigh, represents businesses across industries in complex commercial litigation matters. In 2020, she received a Triangle Business Journal Leader in Diversity Award and a Women in Business Award. Also in 2020, the National Bar Association named her to its “40 Under 40: Nation’s Best Advocates” list. She was selected for inclusion on the 2021 and 2022 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list for commercial litigation. Before joining McGuireWoods, Mallette clerked for North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Barbara A. Jackson and served as a prosecutor in the Air Force JAG Corps.
