GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum, an American Lawyer Media publication, has selected McGuireWoods’ affordable housing team for inclusion on its 2021 list of “Influencers in Multifamily Real Estate.” The annual honors recognize impactful industry leaders, including developers, investors, brokers, and those introducing new concepts and products to the multifamily real estate sector.
Honorees will be profiled in GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum’s October issue and recognized at an Oct. 27 awards ceremony.
As an extension of its national real estate capital markets practice, McGuireWoods in 2021 created a multidisciplinary team of lawyers and McGuireWoods Consulting policy professionals to advise clients on all sides of affordable housing projects, developments and transactions. Team members represent clients ranging from closely held, community-based businesses and governmental entities to Fortune 100 companies.
McGuireWoods partners Kristen Kirby and Scott Adams and McGuireWoods Consulting senior vice president Tracy Baynard lead the affordable housing team, which collaborates with the law firm’s real estate, tax, syndicated lending, land use, public finance and policy attorneys to deliver integrated services to clients.
“Our lawyers and public policy professionals work together to provide clients with the full range of capabilities to meet the challenges and opportunities of today’s affordable housing market,” Kirby said. “We are proud to be singled out for leadership in this area.”
“This honor is a testament to the experience and insight we bring to helping clients navigate local, state and federal laws affecting affordable housing projects,” Adams added.
Said Baynard: “It is gratifying to have a respected, independent authority like GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum recognize the powerful team we have assembled to assist clients in all aspects of affordable housing.”
McGuireWoods earned a Tier 1 national ranking for land use and zoning law, public finance law, real estate law and tax law in the 2021 U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” report. The multidisciplinary team dedicated to the affordable housing industry comprises lawyers who are national leaders in their individual practices.
