Colby Stevenson, an attorney with McGuireWoods’ Financial Services Litigation Department in Charlotte, will join the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office on Oct. 31, 2022. His last day with McGuireWoods is Oct. 21.
In his new role as an assistant district attorney, Stevenson will prosecute misdemeanors.
“My time at McGuireWoods has been crucial to my growth as an attorney because of the talented colleagues and supervisors who provided models for professional excellence,” Stevenson said.
Since joining McGuireWoods in 2011, Stevenson has focused on financial services litigation, specifically representing banks in mortgage and foreclosure matters. Before joining the firm, he worked in the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and in the Guilford County Public Defender’s Office in Greensboro, North Carolina.
“We are grateful for Colby’s valuable contributions to the practice and the firm, and he will be missed,” said Cheryl Haas, chair of McGuireWoods’ Financial Services Litigation Department. “We wish him much success at the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office.”
