McGuireWoods partner D. Bowen “Bo” Heath has been named to the Triangle Business Journal’s 2022 “40 Under 40” list.
The annual awards recognize outstanding professionals under the age of 40 for contributions to their organizations and the community. The winners, who were selected from more than 200 nominees, will be honored at a June 29 event at Fletcher Opera Theater in Raleigh.
“I am honored to be included in this group of distinguished leaders,” Heath said. “I am grateful for the support of my McGuireWoods colleagues and for the firm’s continued commitment to the communities where we live and work.”
Heath, a partner in McGuireWoods’ Raleigh office and director of McGuireWoods Consulting’s North Carolina government relations group, played roles in several successful initiatives in 2021 to aid businesses and people struggling with the economic and healthcare challenges of COVID-19, including implementing a wholesale change to the way North Carolina delivers healthcare services to low-income populations.
Heath represented an organization selected to administer the state’s Medicaid program under a managed care system that took effect last year. He also helped an insurance carrier expand coverage for telehealth services, especially for underserved populations, and assisted a client that created North Carolina’s COVID-19 vaccine finder app and exposure notification app.
Heath assisted businesses navigating the essential designations and temporary emergency regulations so that they could continue to deliver services through the pandemic. He also assisted nonprofits with vital state funding to enable them to maintain operations and, in some instances, expand services during the pandemic shutdown.
