McGuireWoods partners Sabrina A. Beldner, Meghaan C. Madriz, Bruce M. Steen and Jacquelyn E. Stone have again been recognized among Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers of America, an annual guide honoring top advisers to businesses, universities, nonprofits and other organizations on global labor and employment matters.
Beldner has been named to the list for three consecutive years. Madriz, Steen and Stone are honored for the second year in a row.
Beldner chairs McGuireWoods’ national Labor & Employment Department. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles-Century City office, she represents clients in employment-related individual, class, representative and collective action claims and traditional labor matters. She also represents clients in traditional labor matters and conducts high-level employee misconduct investigations and management training on a wide variety of employment-related issues. She was named Labor & Employment Lawyer of the Year in the 2022 Women in Business Law Awards: Americas, presented by Euromoney’s Legal Media Group.
Madriz, a Houston partner, advises clients on labor and employment law matters, including wage-and-hour disputes, internal investigations, class and collective actions, and discrimination claims. She also handles unfair competition and misappropriation of trade secrets litigation. In addition, she works on transactional matters advising clients on employment agreements, restrictive covenants and employment law practices.
Steen, based in Charlotte, is the firm’s general counsel and former chair of the Labor & Employment Department. He litigates collective and class action claims and defends clients against employee claims asserting wrongful termination, breach of contract, unlawful harassment, discrimination and retaliation. In addition, he represents ERISA welfare and pension benefits plans in single and multi-plaintiff benefits disputes.
Stone assists companies in immigration-related matters, including employment-based visas for employees of multinational companies, engineers, physicians, lawyers, architects, teachers, professors and research scientists. She also helps foreign companies and organizations establish U.S. operations and coordinate the transfer of key executives. Stone is a Richmond partner in the firm’s Securities & Capital Markets Department.
