McGuireWoods ranked among the leading law firms for advising clients in M&A transactions in 2022, once again earning top 10 ratings for U.S. M&A deals in year-end league tables published by Refinitiv, Bloomberg and Mergermarket.
The firm placed eighth in all three league tables for U.S. M&A deals and ranked among the top 15 law firms for global transactions. McGuireWoods also bolstered its position as a powerhouse in mid-market M&A deals, placing fifth for U.S. transactions in Refinitiv’s rankings and 10th for global transactions in Bloomberg’s league tables report.
McGuireWoods’ notable deals include representing EDF Trading Holdings LLC in the sale of EDF Energy Services to BP; advising talent agency Wasserman Music in its acquisition of Paradigm Music UK’s live music representation business; and representing Vet’s Best Friend Group, a portfolio company of firm client Revelstoke Capital Partners, in its sale to Rarebreed Veterinary Partners.
“These rankings reflect the depth and breadth of our transactional capabilities and our commitment to helping clients achieve their business goals,” said Richard W. Viola, deputy managing partner of McGuireWoods’ corporate practice. “We look forward to building on our success in 2023.”
McGuireWoods’ M&A and private equity capabilities have earned nationwide recognition from Chambers USA and The Legal 500. The firm was a finalist in six deal categories for the 2022 M&A Advisor Awards, which recognized top corporate transactions and the firms involved in closing them. The firm was honored for its role in the Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year ($500 million – $1 billion) for advising CEI Vision Partners in its acquisition by Eyecare Partners in 2021.
