Associate Matthew Weinstein Appointed to Virginia State Board of Elections

On Feb. 6, 2023, Gov. Glenn Youngkin appointed McGuireWoods associate Matthew Weinstein to the Virginia State Board of Elections.

The five-member board is authorized to:

1. adopt regulations governing election administration;
2. provide voter registration applications and deliver absentee ballots to eligible military and overseas voters;
3. establish and maintain a statewide voter registration system;
4. prescribe standard forms for voter registration; and
5. certify elections.

Prior to this appointment, Weinstein served on the Arlington County Electoral Board from 2020-2022, including serving as chair in 2021.

Based in the firm’s Tysons office, Weinstein focuses his legal practice on real estate and land use law in Northern Virginia and ABC law throughout the state.
