The National Law Journal selected McGuireWoods for inclusion in its 2023 “Legal Technology Trailblazers” publication honoring law firms and companies for innovations that improve the practice of law and enhance client service.
McGuireWoods earned recognition for creating a customized, mobile-friendly litigation alert program that automates research about new federal court filings to instantly provide lawyers with the information needed to communicate efficiently with clients. The program saves time and reduces the risk of errors and redundant contacts with clients.
The concept originated with McGuireWoods litigation associate Garrett Hooe and was approved by the firm’s Practice Innovation Office, a team of lawyers and administrative professionals that evaluates, recommends and pilots novel approaches to serving clients. The firm’s technology and marketing professionals worked with Hooe to develop the tool.
Financial Times previously recognized McGuireWoods’ litigation alert program by putting it on the shortlist in the client delivery category in 2022’s North America Innovative Lawyers Report.
“Our litigation alert program is a product of creative thinking and seamless collaboration by our lawyers and professional staff,” said McGuireWoods managing partner J. Tracy Walker IV. “We are proud to be recognized by The National Law Journal for a team effort to deliver innovative solutions for clients.”
