McGuireWoods partners Sabrina A. Beldner and Tanya Greene have been honored by the Los Angeles Business Journal as 2023 “Women of Influence: Attorneys.” The special publication recognizes women lawyers for exceptional legal skills and achievements, exemplary leadership and contributions to the community.
Beldner and Greene are accomplished lawyers and leaders who have earned numerous honors for professional excellence and community service.
“I am proud to be included in this group of distinguished lawyers and to share this honor with Tanya,” Beldner said. “I am also grateful to McGuireWoods for cultivating an environment that enables women to flourish as lawyers and leaders.”
Added Greene: “It is gratifying to be recognized with lawyers who have made important contributions to our profession and our community, and it is rewarding to be honored along with Sabrina.”
Beldner chairs McGuireWoods’ national Labor & Employment Department and is the driving force behind the firm’s successful California employment law practice. She has earned national recognition for her work representing employers in high-stakes discrimination, wage-and-hour and traditional labor litigation. She has obtained favorable results representing management in collective-bargaining negotiations, grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings and at trial before the National Labor Relations Board.
Beldner previously chaired McGuireWoods’ LGBTQ+ Lawyers Network and has developed and led high-profile firm diversity initiatives. Based in McGuireWoods’ Century City office, she sits on the firm’s Los Angeles recruiting committee; mentors law students through the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity; and serves as a pro bono partner to a nonprofit that improves food quality in public schools.
The LABJ previously honored Beldner in its inaugural “Leaders of Influence – Labor & Trial Attorneys” publication in 2022. Beldner was named Labor & Employment Lawyer of the Year in the “2022 Women in Business Law Awards: Americas,” presented by Euromoney’s Legal Media Group. The Daily Journal has twice named her to its list of “Top Labor & Employment Lawyers.” Beldner also has been named to Lawdragon’s list of “500 Leading Corporate Employment Lawyers” for three consecutive years.
Greene is an accomplished litigator who handles high-profile litigation for some of the world’s most recognizable corporations. She also makes an impact through pro bono advocacy and by mentoring the next generation of women and minority lawyers, from law students to midlevel associates.
As the former pro bono leader for McGuireWoods’ downtown Los Angeles and Century City offices, Greene’s service and influence has made an impact in her community and on her mentees. Among her many achievements, she leads a pro bono team serving as co-counsel in a multiplaintiff suit challenging practices by the city of Los Angeles related to the confiscation and disposal of unhoused people’s belongings. McGuireWoods honored Greene with its inaugural Pro Bono Partner Mentor Award in 2022 for her commitment and contributions to pro bono initiatives.
Greene’s previous honors include selection for the LABJ’s 2022 “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys” list. In 2021, she was recognized as one of the Daily Journal’s “Top Women Lawyers” and as a “Woman of Influence” by L.A. Biz. She recently was a finalist for the Community Impact Award in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2023 Diversity, Equity + Inclusion Awards.
