North Carolina Lawyers Weekly selected McGuireWoods Charlotte partner Naho Kobayashi for its 2023 class of Leaders in the Law honoring attorneys’ outstanding contributions to the legal profession and their local communities. The honorees were feted at an April 20 luncheon in Raleigh.
Kobayashi, a partner in McGuireWoods’ nationally ranked debt finance practice, handles complex commercial and banking transactions. She primarily represents lenders and investors in debt financings and related equity investments, with an emphasis on transactions involving borrowers in healthcare industries.
Kobayashi leads the firm’s financial institutions industry team alternative lender subgroup and previously co-chaired McGuireWoods’ recruiting committee. She also is a member of the firm’s groundbreaking Women in Private Equity & Finance Initiative.
Among her many honors, she was selected for inclusion in the Secured Finance Network’s The Secured Lender – Women in Secured Finance publication and recognized in the Best Lawyers in America for commercial finance law.
“Naho is an outstanding lawyer and trusted adviser who has been a leader at our firm, in the legal profession and in the community,” Charlotte office managing partner Brian Kahn said. “We’re delighted to congratulate her on this well-deserved honor.”
Kobayashi added: “I’m humbled to be included in this group of esteemed lawyers and to represent McGuireWoods in this year’s Leaders in the Law class.”
