McGuireWoods partners Diane Flannery and Brian Jackson were singled out for client service excellence on BTI Consulting Group’s 2023 Client Service All-Stars list.
All-Stars were selected based on unprompted feedback from corporate counsel at companies ranging in size from $1 billion in revenue to the largest companies in the world.
Flannery, chair of McGuireWoods’ Products, Environmental & Mass Tort Litigation Department, is an accomplished litigator and has tried complex, high-profile product liability cases in federal and state courts. She has organized and managed large-scale defenses in class action and multidistrict litigation, handled emotionally charged severe injury and death cases, and advised clients on punitive damages, product recalls and matters before the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
“Diane is the best class action defense lawyer,” a client told BTI. “She’s creative, innovative, tough as nails and a great partner. An excellent defense attorney, she is smart, pragmatic and innovative.”
Jackson is managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Charlottesville, Virginia, office and co-leads the firm’s incident response team. Jackson represents captive insurance companies, natural gas transmission companies and long-haul truckers, among others. He has tried hundreds of high-exposure cases and handles all aspects of motor carrier litigation management, Department of Transportation audits and investigations, National Transportation Safety Board investigations, and cases involving property damage, fire loss and arson.
“Brian is easy to work with, has a great demeanor, is cool under pressure, and has great depth in utility experience,” a client told BTI.
McGuireWoods consistently ranks among the leading law firms in BTI’s surveys of corporate counsel. The firm earned a No. 4 ranking in BTI’s 2023 Client Service A-Team report, the gold standard for measuring client service excellence. In addition, McGuireWoods was one of only nine singled out for superior client service in BTI’s 2022 Most Recommended Law Firms report.
“Diane and Brian excel at managing complex litigation matters and developing strategies to achieve their clients’ goals,” said McGuireWoods managing partner J. Tracy Walker IV. “This recognition is a reflection of their skill and careful attention to client service.”
