Corporate Counsel Business Journal named McGuireWoods Chicago partner Amber McGraw Walsh to its inaugural 50 Women to Watch List.
The list recognizes women who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, business acumen and a commitment to mentorship in their communities. The honorees were chosen from more than 500 nominees.
The former chair of McGuireWoods’ Healthcare Department, Walsh sits on the firm’s executive committee and chairs its lateral partner integration committee. She founded and now co-leads McGuireWoods’ award-winning Women in Private Equity & Finance Initiative, which has grown into a network of more than 1,500 women in the private equity and lending sectors. She also co-founded and co-chairs the firm’s annual Healthcare and Life Sciences Private Equity and Finance Conference, one of the largest private equity events in the U.S. healthcare market.
Walsh is a member of the board of directors of The Leverage Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the advancement of Black executives on boards and in senior leadership roles in all sectors of the healthcare industry.
“I believe strongly in creating opportunities for women to succeed, and I’m grateful to be recognized by CCBJ as part of this distinguished group of women who are leading the charge,” Walsh said.
Among her many honors, Walsh has been recognized in Chambers USA, Legal 500 United States and the Best Lawyers in America. She received a 2021 Women, Influence & Power in Law Award from ALM’s Corporate Counsel magazine and The National Law Journal named her to its inaugural Healthcare Law Trailblazers list in 2019.
