McGuireWoods has been honored in The M&A Advisor’s International M&A Awards, earning recognition for its role in the Information Technology Deal of the Year (over $100 million).
The firm represented Origo, an Icelandic IT services firm, in the sale of its minority interest in Tempo Ultimate Parent, LLC to private equity firm Diversis Capital. The $195 million deal was one of the largest Icelandic transactions of 2022 and recognized as the top IT deal over $100 million.
Partner Patrick De Ridder and Daniel Howell represented Origo in the transaction, which was challenging due to the legal and cultural differences involved and the unique disclosure requirements for publicly listed companies in Iceland. McGuireWoods collaborated with Icelandic law firm LOGOS to assist Origo.
“We were proud to assist Origo in a complex transaction that was so vital to the company and its strategy for continued growth,” De Ridder said.
The M&A Advisor selected the award winners from hundreds of nominations evaluated by an independent judging panel made up of experts in the field. Winners will be recognized at the 2023 Leadership in Dealmaking Summit, to be held Sept. 19-20 in New York City.
McGuireWoods consistently ranks among the leading law firms for U.S. and global M&A deals, including private equity transactions, and earned top 10 ratings for U.S. M&A deals in year-end league tables published by Refinitiv, Bloomberg and Mergermarket.
