Latinvex, a leading publisher of Latin American business and legal news, named McGuireWoods partner Eric Snyder to its 2023 “Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers” list. The annual list honors leading attorneys from international law firms that are involved in legal business in the region.
Based in New York, Snyder is an accomplished defense lawyer and former federal prosecutor who has successfully led numerous international anti-corruption matters. A member of the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department, Snyder represents corporations and individuals in civil and criminal fraud matters and anti-bribery, anti-corruption and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act litigation. He also conducts internal investigations for public companies and banks facing government scrutiny of their operations in the United States and abroad.
Snyder served as a prosecutor for 16 years, including eight years as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, where he focused on cases involving bank and wire fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice, RICO and International Emergency Economic Powers Act violations. He prosecuted the 50 top leaders of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, a designated foreign terrorist organization, for alleged narcotics manufacturing and importation offenses and tried the first wave of defendants extradited to the United States.
Among his many honors, Snyder is ranked in Chambers and Partners’ 2023 Global Guide and 2023 Latin America Guide for Corporate Crimes & Investigations (Latin America – International Counsel).
“I am honored to be included on this list of highly respected attorneys,” Snyder said. “This recognition is also a tribute to McGuireWoods’ reputation for excellence in cross-border investigations and enforcement matters.”
