American Lawyer Media publication Corporate Counsel has selected McGuireWoods Chicago partner Amy Manning for its 2023 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards recognizing accomplished women attorneys at law firms and in-house legal departments across the country.
Manning leads McGuireWoods’ antitrust practice group, and is the immediate past chair of the firm’s Antitrust, Trade & Commercial Litigation Department. She is a nationally prominent antitrust lawyer, having held many leadership roles within the American Bar Association Antitrust Section. She chairs the ABA Antitrust Section Long Range Diversity Planning Committee. She served as vice chair of the 2020 and 2022 ABA Antitrust Section International Cartel Workshops, recognized globally as the premier international cartel conference, and will be vice chair again in 2024. From 2018-2021, she sat on the ABA Antitrust Section Council.
At McGuireWoods, Manning serves on the executive committee and board of partners. She previously was managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office, co-chair of the life sciences industry team and co-chair of the recruiting committee. She plays an integral role in McGuireWoods’ annual Women’s Leadership Development Forum, which helps senior women associates develop leadership skills.
“I am proud to be honored along with the accomplished lawyers selected for these awards,” said Manning. “I share this recognition with the incredible mentors and colleagues who inspired me throughout my career.”
A leader in her Chicago community, Manning co-founded the Chicago Women Antitrust Lawyers Network — the first professional networking group for women antitrust lawyers in the area — to share advice on advancement and enhance members’ contact with heavy-hitters in the legal industry. She twice chaired the American Diabetes Association Chicago board and is a current board member. She also is a board member of the Chicago Bar Foundation, this year chairing its Investing in Justice Campaign, an annual initiative that rallies the legal community to support the work of more than 30 pro bono and legal aid organizations and related initiatives.
The Women, Influence & Power in Law honorees will be recognized at an awards dinner on Oct. 18, 2023, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
