McGuireWoods Richmond partner Brad Ridlehoover will join Tuckahoe Holdings, LLC as its first tax director, beginning May 28, 2024. His last day at McGuireWoods is May 10.
Ridlehoover, who joined McGuireWoods’ Tax & Employee Benefits Department in January 2010, advises individuals, business and nonprofits on tax and governance issues and routinely serves as outside general counsel. Ridlehoover earned his J.D. from William & Mary Law School, his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College.
At Tuckahoe Holdings, Ridlehoover will build a team to add value for the holding company and Tuckahoe Holdings’ operating companies by supplying back-office support to handle tax compliance and overall tax strategy.
Ridlehoover offered gratitude for McGuireWoods’ support of his pro bono work with nonprofits, particularly the Armed Services Arts Partnership, which helps veterans reintegrate into communities after returning from service.
“It was a very tough decision to leave McGuireWoods and all the support I’ve had over 14 wonderful years,” Ridlehoover said. “Because of my role in tax, I’ve worked with people in nearly all our offices. The good news is I’m becoming a client, so I’m not completely leaving the picture.”
Atlanta partner Gerald Thomas, chair of the firm’s Tax & Employee Benefits Department, said: “Brad has been a valuable member of our team for more than 14 years. We will miss him very much, but we’re excited for the next chapter of his career with Tuckahoe Holdings.”
