McGuireWoods Chicago partners Amy Manning and Angelo Russo have been recognized among Lawdragon’s inaugural 500 Leading Global Antitrust & Competition Lawyers. The rankings honor attorneys who excel in crafting deals that comply with international competition rules and representing clients in antitrust investigations and litigation.

Manning co-leads McGuireWoods’ Antitrust & Trade Regulation Practice Group and is the immediate past chair of the firm’s Antitrust, Trade & Commercial Litigation Department. She handles criminal and civil antitrust matters for international and U.S. companies, as well as individuals, throughout the United States. Manning has successfully represented clients in a variety of matters, including arguing cases before federal courts of appeals and a state supreme court, and handling an antitrust case that went to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Manning is an officer of the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section leadership. She served as vice chair of the 2024 ABA Antitrust Section International Cartel Workshop, recognized globally as the premier international cartel conference. It was the third time she served as vice chair of the prestigious conference. She co-founded the Chicago Women Antitrust Lawyers Network — the first professional networking group for women antitrust lawyers in the area. Manning serves on McGuireWoods’ executive committee and board of partners and is a former managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office.

Russo represents individuals and international and domestic companies in criminal antitrust investigations and civil antitrust litigation. He has successfully defended clients against antitrust enforcement actions, secured nonprosecution agreements and leniency protection, and obtained favorable outcomes in competitor-on-competitor litigation. His practice also includes assisting clients with internal investigations, antitrust compliance programs and internal audits to assess compliance with the antitrust laws.

Russo has held several leadership positions within the ABA Antitrust Law Section, and he is a vice chair of the Exemptions & Immunities Committee. He also serves on Law360’s editorial advisory board on competition law. Russo is the former chair of McGuireWoods’ national recruiting committee.

Among their many honors, Manning and Russo have been recognized multiple times in Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Litigators in America guide and in the Chambers USA guide of America’s leading lawyers for business.
