Daria is an associate in the Insurance Recovery Practice Group, where she represents policyholders in a wide range of coverage disputes. Her expertise spans various complex insurance matters, making her an invaluable resource for clients seeking adept legal representation.

Before joining McGuireWoods, Daria honed her legal skills through prestigious clerkships and externships. She clerked for the Honorable Sheri Pym of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where she gained invaluable insight into federal court proceedings and judicial decision-making. Prior to this, she served as a judicial extern for the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court, Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye, and for the Honorable Kimberly J. Mueller of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. These experiences provided her with a robust understanding of both state and federal judicial processes and refined her legal research and writing abilities.

Daria graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she distinguished herself academically and through extracurricular involvement. She served as the Chair of the National Asylum & Refugee Law Moot Court Competition, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to advancing legal education. Additionally, she was an active participant in the UC Davis School of Law Civil Rights Clinic, where she advocated for civil rights and social justice issues.

Beyond her legal career, Daria is pursuing her Private Pilot License, showcasing her dedication to continuous learning and personal growth.

  • Representation of a large commercial landlord in insurance coverage litigation concerning more than $350 million in coverage for business interruption losses and repair costs arising out of a fire at a large commercial apartment complex in Los Angeles.
  • Representation of a bioscience company in connection with insurance coverage litigation concerning substantial sums of directors and officers liability insurance for underlying litigation alleging violations of securities claims and the California Labor Code.
  • Representation of private equity investment firm in its pursuit of coverage under commercial crime policies and fidelity bonds for employee theft and embezzlement losses exceeding $90 million.
  • Representation of an entertainment company in an appeal concerning directors and officers insurance coverage before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
