Lisette serves as vice president of state government relations for McGuireWoods Consulting in Virginia. She has over a decade of experience in both the public and private sector and has worked with various levels of government and numerous coalitions across the country on policy matters ranging from healthcare to financial services.
Prior to joining the firm, Lisette worked in Capital One’s government and policy affairs group. She led public policy engagements in numerous states on a variety of issues, including credit card policy, ESG, and data privacy. Before Capital One, Lisette held the position of director of government affairs at the Virginia Health Care Association where she represented nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Her public sector experience began when Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe appointed her as a policy advisor and as the state’s Latino liaison to his gubernatorial administration. In this role, she advised the governor on policy and legislative priorities related to the Secretary of Administration, Secretary of Technology, and the Secretary of Health and Human Resources. She also was a policy advisor and community integration coordinator at the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services and focused on individuals with disabilities and vulnerable adults.
Lisette currently serves on the Board of Visitors to Mount Vernon, Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Richmond Chapter Board of Directors, Scholars Latino Initiative, and Virginia Health Catalyst Board of Directors. She is also engaged with other Alzheimer’s advocacy organizations, including Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers and Hilarity for Charity. She formally served on the Virginia Board of Health Professions and the Virginia Advisory Board in Service and Volunteerism.
She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she received a bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs with a concentration in Latin America. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Tech.
