He routinely advises clients on risk management issues and assists them in pre-litigation disputes with insurers.
Shaun focuses on complex insurance coverage disputes involving employment practices liability insurance, commercial general liability insurance, and large property damage, business interruption, and theft losses. He achieved a landmark victory in the California Court of Appeal’s first published decision on insurance coverage for employee class action lawsuits alleging violations of the California Labor Code, the Private Attorneys General Act, and other state labor laws. Shaun’s clients span various industries, including grocery stores, manufacturers, restaurants, retailers, and companies involved in distribution, staffing, property management, transportation, and other services. He has also secured insurance coverage for claims of breach of employment contract, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.
In addition, Shaun has represented corporate insureds in claims under commercial general liability insurance policies, securing coverage for advertising liabilities, bodily injuries, commercial disparagement, construction defects, property damage, intellectual property infringement, libel, slander, and products liabilities. His work extends to substantial property damage and business interruption claims, helping clients obtain coverage for losses from fires, floods, hurricanes, rainstorms, windstorms, and other natural disasters.
