Josh is an associate and civil litigator in the Commercial Litigation group. As a generalist, Josh practices across a broad spectrum of complex civil disputes, with plaintiff-side focuses in insurance recovery and creditors’ rights litigation, and defendant-side focuses on business torts, financial fraud, products liability, and other mass tort actions, including class actions.
Josh also maintains non-litigation practices in the areas of data privacy and corporate/financial restructuring. Josh is a fluent Spanish speaker and maintains a pro bono practice representing clients in immigration proceedings. Prior to joining the firm, Josh clerked for bankruptcy judges in the Northern District of California and Northern District of Florida.

- Represent major shipbuilding company in pursuing insurance coverage for asbestos-related mass tort liability, including under policies issued to insolvent co-defendant.
- Represent real estate investment trust in high-stakes insurance recovery litigation concerning significant fire-related property damage and business interruption losses.
- Defend major oil-and-gas producer in environmental-tort class action.
- Represent publicly traded distributor in products-liability actions and related insurance-recovery disputes involving multiple simultaneous proceedings in state and federal court.
- Represent major financial institutions in connection with Ponzi-scheme and other mass-fraud litigation in state and federal court.
- Represent industrial lubricant manufacturer in connection with intellectual property and business defamation dispute arising from distribution of counterfeit products in Latin America.
- Represent nonbank payment processing firm in insurance coverage litigation related to a malware attack.
- Represent financial services firm in pursuing liability insurance coverage under D&O policy for antitrust and business tort litigation.
- Represented liquidating trustee of multi-national entity in creditors’ rights litigation related to entity’s alleged perpetration of sophisticated financial fraud involving secured reinsurance investment vehicles.

- Assist clients in complying with rapidly developing state-law data privacy laws and regulations.
- Advise clients in adopting policies and procedures to address litigation risks associated with biometric data and state and federal wiretapping laws.

- Advised natural gas distributor in connection with winddown of interstate pipeline project.
