Alice is an associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. She is experienced with counselling clients on compliance with a variety of local, state, and federal employment laws, with a focus on reputational risk management.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Alice practiced as an in house counsel at a large financial institution. In that role, Alice counseled her internal clients on a myriad of employment matters, including ADA accommodations, employee disciplines and/or terminations, and policies regarding emerging employment laws across the United States. Having previously worked in-house, Alice is intimately familiar with the needs of the firm’s corporate clients and uses this experience to offer practical solutions and guidance.
Experience
- Counsels employers on a wide range of employment policies, including wage and hour, paid time off and leaves, social media, and workplace conduct.
- Regularly drafts and revises employee handbooks, employment policies, and employment agreements for employers of all sizes.
- Conducts workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment and other issues.
- Advises corporate clients on work authorization issues, including Form I-9 and E-Verify Compliance, including conducting internal audits of employer Form I-9 records for compliance with regulatory standards.
- Performs diligence on multiple labor and employment corporate transactions, including immigration and work authorization issues, including Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance; and employee handbooks and standalone employment policies.
- Advises corporate clients on website/digital accessibility compliance issues under Title III of the ADA and performs detailed reviews of WCAG non-compliance of consumer facing websites.
- Advises clients on employment-related artificial intelligence policies.
