Adam is an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment Department. He works on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters and has experience in employee benefits and incentives work and data protection law. Adam is a certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).
Adam has an active pro bono practice and a particular interest in the intersection between UK employment law and emerging artificial intelligence regulation.
Experience
- Advised employers on sensitive senior exits, negotiating terms of separation and managing associated legal risk.
- Defended employers in respect of claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breaches of restrictive covenants and confidentiality.
- Provided strategic advice to and representation of a UK registered care provider in relation to a TUPE transfer of employment, effecting over 1,500 employees.
- Advised employers on employment status of atypical individuals and the associated rights and obligations.
- Conducted due diligence exercises on asset and share sales (including public takeovers), acting for both buyer and seller in relation to employees, in particular the impact on data protection frameworks, employee incentive schemes and pension arrangements.
- Provided training to clients on collective redundancy procedures and advised on strategy in relation to corporate restructures, including advice on managing union relations.
- Assisted clients in navigating complex disciplinary and grievance issues.
- Drafted employee handbooks, employment and consultancy contracts and bespoke restrictive covenants.
- Advised on apportionment of holiday pay under the Working Time Regulations to protect employers from back-dated holiday pay claims and advised on the risks of liability and potential quantum.
- Drafted data protection policies and privacy notices for multinational organisations and advising on all aspects of data protection infrastructure and compliance, in particular assisted US based clients with their international data transfer arrangements.
