Michael joined McGuireWoods Consulting in April 2011 and is a senior vice president of state government relations. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for Whitehall Public Affairs Group providing strategic advice to a wide range of clients on regulation, communications and lobbying matters.
Possessing 17 years of public sector experience in Georgia, Michael spent 11 of those years at the Georgia Department of Insurance, where he served as a deputy assistant commissioner. He was responsible for the Department’s Intergovernmental Affairs, supervising the Arson and Insurance Fraud units, as well as overseeing the licensing of Property & Casualty and Life & Health Insurance companies.
Michael began his career in state politics serving as a legislative aide in both the House and Senate of the Georgia General Assembly as well as working at the Georgian Republican Party. He has managed and served as the general consultant for several political campaigns in Georgia, including Ralph Hudgens for commissioner of insurance in 2010.
Michael serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
